Stitch Smith Launch features our students design

We are delighted to announce that Stitchsmith clutch bag will be launching on Kick start this Tuesday the 30th of April with one of our second-year students Zahraa Aziz winning designs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Zahraa to add to her portfolio and in addition to placing 2nd in the competition, Zahrraa also won £500. We also had a runner up in this competition Chloe Glass another excellent example of one of our printers on the Textiles in Practice course.

Student Shima Competition Winner

Congratulations to one of our Final year students Chelsea Bodell who won this year’s National Shima Competition!

Chelsea Bodell winning design

Chelsea won a week in Japan at the Shima Seiki headquarters, where she will be training for the week then sightseeing at the weekend followed by another week at Shima at Castle Donington to knit the designs they made in Japan.

Oxfam X hud Collaboration

This year our 2nd year designer makers collaborated with Oxfam Batley Waste-savers. The student were task to create products by up-cycling unsalable clothing that was damaged.

This year group has produced outstanding results which extremely impressed Holly Bentley (Online Shop Manager), Fran Tutt (Festival manager) & Echoe Moyers one of our current students who is on her placement students at Oxfam. We look forward to working with Oxfam again!

Joules Live Brief

This year our 2nd-year commercial designers responded to a live industry brief with Joules.

The winner Ellie Brown won a two-week placement at Joules and the runner up Asmita Gurung where presented a certificate by Dan Matthews an ex-student who is currently a Junior Print Designer for Joules.

A huge congratulations to all those who worked extremely hard.
