‘Hooked’ was inspired by research into fishing gear which is left behind in the oceans due to overfishing. Photography taken specifically for this project in Addu Atoll, Maldives captured the beauty of these negative effects left behind by man. The knit samples produced were influenced by these images, creating textured knit’s for Spring/Summer 2021.

Embrace SS21 empowers women to reconnect to their true souls focusing on wellbeing, spirituality and freedom. Inspired from the earth’s natural resources and sustainability, the knitted garments are made from natural yarns such as silks, seaweed and alpaca. The knitwear is designed on the brother, dubied and shima using detailed open stitches to create breath-ability and drape whilst contrasting with luxurious, metallic tassels.

The Barbara Hepworth Collection shares a particular and personal connection with the university. It bridges the gap between loungewear and lifestyle for the woman who appreciates timeless design. Minimalism is the driving force behind the collection, with architectural lines and shapes being of key influence to create multi – functional staple pieces, from dense fabrics with a modern twist.
